Minors in fanart? con't

I've recently had a picture of mine taken down for reasons that still seem unclear to me. This isn't the only time, I've had a similar run in like this before.

One being a FullMetal Alchemist Elricest picture and the other being an Invader Zim ZADR picture.

The most clear explanation I can sum it up to is:
Despite the characters being drawn at a legal consensual age, because they derive from a show where they are underaged- all sexually themed fanart may not be posted.

Sooo- that rules out like 90% of fanart; Kingdom Hearts, FMA, ALL of the ZADR fandom GONE, haha- DADR, Naruto... Hell, Legend of Zelda- Link was, what, 14?

I'm curious about opinions with this. Has anyone else had similar incidences? If so, I'd like to hear them and the possible back and forth if anyone has saved them.

What really amuses me is- it wasn't the incest that got the pic removed. No. Incest isn't even against the rules. 8D I looked. I couldn't find anything.
Yeahuh. And if anyone else hasn't noticed the abundance of T&A on the front page... and not the legalist of looking T&A either >_> Panties and bondage ftw lol

There are plenty of well known artists that draw questionable art of girls from cartoon series that are underaged. So why aren't they being reprimanded as well?

Despite being classless, shameless and being a down right sticky explosion of white hot gay extravaganza, its rules are far more lax... and the category system is super super SUPER easy, there is no subscription needed all features are FREE, and to top it off- NO CAMERA WHORES. No photography whatsoever can be posted.
So despite being a hive of mindless faggotry, it has plenty going for it.

I do have to say though...looked at the FMA pic in question...they do look a little young in it.
The ZADR one though, if it's the one I think it is, seemed fine to me. -.-

Or Kingdom Heart fanart.. I mean- Roxas is 14? 15? 16? (technically barely a few years old in existance 8D ) and Axel looks about 19 - 20. Both Riku and Sora are minors too.
Yet you see all of this all over the front page, especially the more sexual of images.

Aye there's the rub- I had my picture on mature filter... most you see on the main page aren't I've noticed. So it wasn't like I was flirting with disaster, leaving it open in my gallery for some minor to stumble upon and become traumatized.
I've seen plenty more sexual FMA and IZ pictures untouched on DA. I think this is a case of 'don't ask don't tell'.

Let's see, Sora was 15 I think, so Roxas approx same, Riku 16. And since those two are main...*laughs* Surprised they don't attack it. And while they CAN age Riku and Sora, you can't age Roxas, cuz he's a pedoleech. ^^

ugh. not again. this is getting really ridiculous! D| They need to fix their system. another artist I know got a picture taken down of Itachi for the same reason. And we all know Itachi is sooo not underage. They need to fix something about this! Its unfair. D| But dont let it spoil your mood too much. Their just stupid, they shouldnt have gotten taken down.

I agree with you that some of the stuff that *is* acceptable on this site is really obscene and shocking, but I have to say that, even though I really adore your work, having looked at the deviation, neither of the characters look even close to legal age. I don't know the fanom or pairing that you were drawing, but the boy standing up looked about 10 years old in the picture. I'm aware that a lot of anime-style drawings can look young, but I can understand why an admin or a casual browser might think that your deviation had sexual content involving a minor, because it really did look that way, even if it wasn't your intention.

Ahhh, true. I see your point, it's quite valid. Style kind often screw you over. ... I've seen some interesting things in my time.
